Campers will have the opportunity to create projects in the following areas: leather, bead work, painting, model building, clay, woodwork, candle making, rocketry, and a host of other crafts....The campers' creativity is their only limit!!

WATERFRONT:

Caribou's waterfront program has been under the expert leadership of the same highly-qualified, WSI Certified Waterfront Director for over 20 years! Situated on Lake Pattee, a private lake, our waterfront is the ideal setting for swimming, sailing, xwind surfing, canoeing, kayaking, water skiing, and fishing! All waterfront staff members are WSI certified and are trained and certified in life guarding and basic water safety.

SWIMMING:

Our floating alumadock 25 yard swim area provides the ideal setting for a refreshing dip and competitive swim meets on a warm summer day. Mornings are geared towards instructional swim sessions emphasizing individual skill development. We utilize the American Red Cross Instructional Swim Curriculum. Afternoons at the waterfront provide campers with the opportunity for recreational swimming and additional skill development!

SAILING:

Equipped with a fleet of sail boats, the sailing program teaches Caribou Campers the fundamentals of rigging a sail boat, sailing skills and techniques, and boating safety. In addition to instructional sessions, regattas and recreational sailing round out this program. Intercamp sailing competitions are offered throughout the summer!

SKIING/WAKEBOARDING:

Caribou has two tournament, in-board, competition ski boats and a superbly qualified staff of ski instructors/boat operators. We also have the finest in modern, up-to-date ski equipment and a challenging slalom course. Our water skiing program has always been a very popular and highly attended activity area. Whether you are a beginner, slalomer, or barefooter, you'll love cruising around Lake Pattee. Knee boarding and tubing are also available!

CANOEING/KAYAKING:

Camp Caribou has a fleet of high quality canoes as well as a number of very large war canoes. Expert instruction by American Canoe Association Certified Instructors is given daily. Individual skill and stroke development is stressed. Kayaking is also available. Campers who will be going on canoeing/white water rafting trips with the wilderness trip staff will work with the canoe instructors prior to those trips.
ZIP WIRE :

The aqua zip is the perfect way to cool down on a warm day. After ascending 65 feet up into a pine tree you hook into the aqua zip cable while standing on a platform and prepare for your 365 foot trip across the cove into Lake Pattee. (see the video!)
