Fall Blog 2021

by The Directors on October 6, 2021

Greetings Caribou Family,

We miss you all! All of us are sending out tons of love and hugs for the start of the school year and fall season to the entire Caribou Community.  After an amazing summer at the ‘Bou with the best campers and counselors, we had some fantastic post camp school groups, football camps, and two incredible weddings! The post season started with Bonny Eagle High School and South Portland High School Football for their annual Pre-Season football camp at the ‘Bou!  Both teams worked extremely hard all throughout the week, but the true highlight for the players and coaches was enjoying the incredible Caribou food cooked by Lalo, Jojo, Alejandro, and Angel!  We then quickly shifted into hosting three separate school groups over the course of two weeks.  Bobby, Jerry, Cody, Bradwyn, Bill, and Rotman worked with the Bancroft School, the Brookwood School, and Fenn facilitating the Caribou challenge ropes course, aquazip, and team building activities!

Then as the weather started to shift and the leaves started to change, we hosted two AMAZING Fall weddings.  Both couples had crisp and sunny weather, picturesque ceremonies at the waterfront, and great dancing in the lodge!  Congratulations to both couples.

We’re now (mostly) settled back in MA, kids back at “school”, full swing with Fall sports, and Bobby, Bill, and Martha are still at camp for the time being.

Other than the post camp groups and events – Bradywn, Eddie, and Cody have been working on the facility and gearing it up for another Winter in Maine.  Over the past month they have been working on a new back deck to the lodge and recently finished installing new roofs on Bunks 10 and Back 1!

We also have seen some massive rain storms over the past few weeks.  Check out the photos below of the waterfront and the area right next to the hockey rink! Photo cred: Martha!

We also wanted to give a huge shout to two guys who worked with us this previous summer – Mahlon Slaughter on winning the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week! And Joel Mast on being named into the All-Crossroads Team! BouYah
