Welcome to the Camp Caribou Staff Experience
Each summer, returning campers and staff cannot wait to travel down our one-mile dirt road and arrive on Camp Caribou’s beautiful 200-acre peninsula. Surrounded by 1.5 miles of private lakefront and towering cathedral pines, Caribou offers an unforgettable setting for a summer camp experience.
Camp Caribou is located in Winslow, Maine, approximately three hours north of Boston. Known for its wild rivers, majestic mountains, rolling hills, and beautiful coastline, Maine is the perfect place to spend a summer working, building friendships, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of campers.
Why Work at a Summer Camp?
Working at Camp Caribou is much more than a summer job. Staff members develop valuable leadership, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and time-management skills that can benefit them in any future career. Counselors also gain hands-on experience working with children, teaching activities, managing groups, and becoming positive role models.
Camp life gives staff the opportunity to:
- Build lifelong friendships with people from around the world
- Strengthen their résumés with meaningful leadership experience
- Develop confidence, independence, and resilience
- Spend the summer outdoors in a beautiful lakeside environment
- Share their talents and teach activities they love
- Become part of a welcoming and supportive camp community
- Make a lasting difference in the lives of campers
The days are active and the work is meaningful, but the memories, relationships, and personal growth make the experience incredibly rewarding.
